Track costs on a Partner Order
Record the operational costs associated with fulfilling an order and keep their details current.
Partners guide · 2 min read
Find the order’s costs
Open the correct order’s Overview and review its costs section. These are the costs recorded for fulfilling that order, separate from the customer-facing product price.
The purchased escrow product can provide default incoming and outgoing wire-cost amounts. Defaults are starting values; review them against the actual cost before saving.
Add a cost
- Use the cost section’s add action.
- Enter the name and amount requested by the cost form.
- Check the order and values before submitting.
- Confirm the new cost appears in the order.
Use a clear description that your team can recognize later. Do not include bank account numbers or confidential customer details in the cost name.
Correct or remove a cost
Use the recorded cost’s available edit action to correct its details. If an entry should not be included, use its delete action and review any confirmation before proceeding.
If an operation fails, check the visible error and the current cost list before retrying. Avoid creating a second cost just to work around an uncertain save.
Keep costs separate from funds movements
A cost entry does not confirm receipt of customer funds, send a refund, record a disbursement, or create a new customer charge. Use the specific workflow action for each of those tasks.
